My all time favourite character on GH has to be the character
Carly because of her loud obnoxious all about me, cat fighter instincts and I don't give a rats ass what you think
about me attitude.
Carly breezed into town with an agenda and one agenda
only she wanted to get back at her biological mother Bobbie Spencer for giving her up for adoption oh so many years ago.
The cat was cerimoniously let out of the bag when Luke
Spencer Carly's own uncle figured out who she was and wanted to force her to leave town.
She never left and since then has been hooked up with many of Port Charles'
most eligible and well to do men.
One of whom was her own step father Tony Jones who did not know the little
vixen was his step daughter at the time.
She hooked up with Jason Morgan and had a fling with him, she then moved
onto his brother AJ had a one night stand with him and then became pregnant. She married him but the marriage ended up in
divorce.
Believing he was the father of the child Jason took on the responsibility
of playing father to the little boy.
Michael was named after Jason's boss Sonny Corinthos whose birth name was
Michael Corithos.
Carly wound up together with Sonny and married him twice and has been divorced
from him twice.
Carly and Sonny have a young son named Morgan whom they
named after Jason.
She married to Lorenzo Alcazar very briefly before she was committed into
Roselawn mental institution.
Carly found her way in and out of Roselawn to keep tabs on how her boys
were doing.
She also so did it so she could check up on Sonny and Jason and what
they were up too.
Watching the scene where her psychlogist Lainey Winters caught her climbing
back into her room at Roselawn cracked me up the woman is a riot.
Carly was one of the victims of the train wreck that was caused by
Manny Ruiz when he made the two trains collide after he killed the engineer of the train.
Robin Scorpio, Carly and Sam McCall were on the same train where the engineer
was killed.
Carly has since left Roselawn and is now business partners with Jasper
Jax in the Metro court hotel, which was named after her best friend Courtney Matthews.
The part of Carly has been played by four actress Sarah Brown, Tamara Braun,
Jennifer Bransford and Laura Wright.
Sarah Brown originated the role in 1996.
She obtained three Emmy awards for her portrayl and also four nominations
for the part of Carly all before she was twenty five.
She left the show in 2001 to pursue other projects.
Tamara Braun was the 2nd talented woman to portray my favourite vixen.
She played Carly from 2001-2005. Tamara's Carly brought a softer more elegant side of Carly with still the bitchy edge to
her and I loved it.
Jennifer Bransford took the role of Carly from April 2005 -October 2005
and was promptly fired because it was said that she did not fit the role of Carly. I think seriously that she was good playing
Carly as a crazy lunatic that ran across the road and whom caused a car accident resulting in Elizabeth Webber to miscarry
the child she was carrying as a surrogat mother for Jax and Courtney Jax.
Laura Wright took on the role of Carly in November 2005 and has hit the performance
right out of the ball park as far as I am concerned.
Since she joined the cast as Carly I have never loved the character as
much as I loved her when Sarah Brown played the part as I do now.
Carly is the female character you love to hate and I hope it always stays
that way.
